As a veteran for Trump I’ve often reflected on why I like the man and his policies. This morning a friend sent me a meme about Iran and North Korea that made it clear (thanks Monica). If you are a veteran you have gone through boot camp. If you are a civilian you have likely seen the movies that include various boot camp scenes. What you might not understand as a civilian is the love and respect we have for those loud-mouthed mean bastards that whipped our butts into shape.

Don’t get me wrong. Nobody likes it when the DI or TI gets up in your face and singles you out. What he is doing is setting an example for the rest of the troops. You learn to not take his actions personally. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you know you screwed up or he just needed to pick someone out of the crowd to make a point.

I remember my TI saying “There are two kinds of discipline, self and imposed. Don’t make me impose it.”

President Trump has been around a long time. He watched his country become weaker and less disciplined. As a former Democrat (till 1987), he understands the mistakes of the Left. Yes, he has made his share of mistakes in life but then again so have I. That is another area where I think many Americans can relate to him. Most of us have evolved politically. We all know the standard joke; If you are young and not liberal you don’t have a heart and if you are old and not a conservative you don’t have a brain. That was me and that is likely many who are reading this.

What President Trump is doing is imposing discipline on the nation and the world. I know many leftists are now screaming “He’s not disciplined!” That is where you are wrong. You don’t get to be a billionaire and President without discipline. The Leftists and deep state folks are crying like a bunch of babies being spanked for the first time. The same is true for other countries. President Trump is simply imposing discipline on the weak and ineffectual.

President Trump inherited a complete mess and now it is time for the hard work of cleaning it up. Yes, there will be hard times ahead. Things will get better in some areas and worse in others. The areas that get worse are going to be those areas of our society and the world that fight the change that is needed. #MAGA #AmericaFirst
