I am thankful that I was born in Queens, NYC. That might seem silly but it taught me to be street smart.

I am thankful that I later suffered hardship in a boy’s home for kids from broken homes. It made me physically and academically strong as well as resilient.

I am thankful for Air Force basic training and even SERE training. It restored discipline to my life.

I am thankful to have been an inspector. It made me pay attention to detail.

I am thankful to have been a survival instructor. It taught me to be silent and observe my surroundings.

I am thankful to have been part of Air Force Special Operations. It taught me to be a quiet professional.

I am thankful for the friends who were brought my way who survive today and the ones we lost. It taught me that this life is temporary but love is eternal.

I am thankful to have owned 2 small businesses. It made me understand success and failure are part of life and to learn from failure.

I am thankful for the grace of God and the sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ. It made me understand I could never be perfect in this life but gave me faith it will be perfect in the life to come.

If I listed all that I am thankful for it would fill a large book.  I would love to hear some of yours.
