Congress designated May as National Military Appreciation Month in 1999 to ensure the nation was given the chance to publicly show their appreciation for troops past and present.
‘National Loyalty Day’ on May 1, 2021. This official public holiday celebrating American patriotism is dually recognized by a public statement made by Veterans For America First President, Vlad Lemets, in a formal announcement made from outside The White House in Washington, D.C. earlier today. According to Lemets, “Today, May 1st, 2021, we join the current Administration in honoring ‘National Loyalty Day’ celebrated annually nationwide.” Each year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, ‘National Loyalty Day’ is celebrated by Americans to showcase their loyalty and patriotism to our country and system of American values.
‘National Military Spouse Appreciation Day’ on May 7, 2021. According to www.Military.com, in 1984, President Ronald Reagan recognized the profound importance of spousal commitment to the readiness and well-being of military members. Subsequently, the Department of Defense standardized the date by declaring the Friday before Mother’s Day every year as “Military Spouse Appreciation Day” to show appreciation for the sacrifices of military spouses.
Furthermore, all ‘Military Spouses’ are silent heroes who are essential to the strength of the nation, and they serve our country just like their loved ones, they deserve this public recognition and formal ‘thank you’ for all their sacrifices made, day in and day out, behind the scenes.
‘National Victory in Europe Day’ on May 08, 2021. First and foremost, it is highlighted that ‘Victory in Europe Day’ is an officially recognized day for our nation and international community. Veterans For America First National Spokesman and U.S. Navy SeaBee officer, Admiral Chuck Kubic, emphasizes the importance of commemorating ‘Victory in Europe Day’ within U.S. borders and abroad. “Annually, on the May 08 anniversary of ‘Victory in Europe Day’- every year- we, as a nation and as global citizens- commemorate the service and sacrifice of all, especially American citizens, who bravely served in World War II
‘National Armed Forces Day’ on May 15, 2021, We honor our troops and unite together as one nation to celebrate across this great country. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country. On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days.
