As an Army veteran who has worked for both types of Army officers, I much rather have Don in the Senate. He is one who made the military a career, made it a choice, did it the difficult way, was promoted to Regular Army from reserve status which in my day was not an easy transition to be accomplished especially from a small state ROTC program. The man beat the odds by being outstanding. Hi opponent, Corky survived the hazing and after that had only to appear and not screw up very badly for a certain number of years and he was in and out with his commitment and education taken care of. One of my cousins did that in the AF Academy. Nothin wrong with it, it is legal. As a military person, however, whose career was cut short due to medical, I really have questions about the system,
I will definitely vote for Don even if I have to write him in… I think my husband, an Army retiree, will also do the same. We who are veterans seem to have higher values on the worth of a Soldier than many others do. We see the person differently. I am a Cold War Vet who served 7 years in Germany. Those 7 years were hot. Most places out of CONUS during the Cold War were potentially hot. We just didn’t/couldn’t chat about it with the civilians back in the states.
