If you had to work yesterday you likely only saw the highlights from the Impeachment hearings “legal scholars”. For me, there were two highlights. First was Matt Gaetz who gets directly to the heart of the matter. He asks the 4 professors, If you have personal knowledge of a single material fact in the Schiff report please raise your hand. He then pauses and points out no hands are raised. They do not raise their hands because there isn’t a single material fact in the Schiff report. There is only supposition, feelings and personal speculation with one exception. That one exception is this quote below:

Mr. Sondland on Nov 20th quoting his recollection of President Trump’s discussion with him: “I want nothing. I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo. Tell Zelensky” — referring to President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine — “to do the right thing.”

The only other fact we have is President Zelensky himself saying there was no pressure or quid pro quo. As a matter of fact, the only corruption this whole thing has exposed is the corruption of Joe and Hunter Biden. There is a quid pro quo, bribery, and extortion if I’ve ever seen it. It could not be more clear. President Trump was asking about it because of America!

All these Impeachment hearings have done for me is to further my view that a lot of law is arbitrary. Think about it. Outside of major crimes like murder, rape, stealing and shoplifting (unless you live in California) and those types of things, it is all opinion. So yes, by all means, let’s Impeach every President of the opposite party of the House from here on out. That’s exactly what this could devolve into.

I would like to throw out a couple of quotes from the transcript of the call between Trump and Zelenskyy.

President Zelenskyy: Well yes, to tell you the truth, we are trying to work hard because we wanted to drain the swamp here in our country. We brought in many many new people. Not the old politicians, not the typical politicians, because we want to have a new format and a new type of government. You are a great teacher for us and in that.

Apparently, President Trump is paying the price for trying to drain the swamp. There are other things from the transcript I will point out in a future post. I just revisited that transcript after listening to yesterday’s testimony, if you can call it that. Things are coming into clearer focus.

Some other highlights if you have time

Fellow veteran Gregory Steube. He served in the Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 2004 to 2008. His point was “Terrorists were afforded more due process than President Trump.”

Fellow veteran Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas also showed how this whole investigation is corrupt and based on hearsay rather than fact. I will never forget talking with Louie about his time as a judge. This is a man of true compassion and honor. His heart still weighed heavy as he related to me the account of sentencing his first man to death. If anyone understands the gravity of our legal system it is Louie Gohmert.

Jim Jordan exposes that the four “scholars” that voted for Clinton could not agree and the outcome was predetermined. Jim is one of the best cross examiners I’ve seen on the Judiciary Committee.
