Mac and I did a shorter 11 minute video on this subject just for VFT. Scroll down for the video. If you like, here is the longer video. From 2001 to 2019 Americans dropped in Christian identity from 85 to 65%. Only 41% of Americans went to church in 2019 (before China Flu). The Featured Image at the top of this post shows the decline from 1950 to 2019. In 1950 over 90% said they were Christian.

Since Mac and I are veterans in our 60s we have seen this decline for many years. From the ending of prayer in public school to the ruling that it was legal to kill babies in the womb what should we expect? Should we be surprised by the moral decline of our nation? It is like the frog in the pot being brought to a boil. If you are not paying attention you are cooked before you realize it.

I was not always a Christian. Atheists and Agnostics are people I understand because I was once one of them. Major world religions were an area of interest so I can speak intelligently with people of other faiths. We all have the right to our own faith or lack thereof in America. After all, it is called ‘faith” not “fact” for a reason.

However, along with the Christian faith comes Christian philosophy. One of the main things you must ask yourself is which philosophy produces the best outcome. Jesus put it this way: “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.” We cannot prove our faith but we can logically look at the outcome of its philosophy. We will leave it to you to decide if the decline of our country has anything to do with the decline of the Christian faith. I know Mac and I see the evidence.

Lastly, an important subject we hit on is the word “tolerance” and how it is used to attack people today. How many times have conservatives or Christians been accused of a lack of tolerance? More times than I can count. Oftentimes tolerance is used by people to avoid getting blowback from people they disagree with. Real love is telling people the truth, not simply tolerating them or their ideas. I recall an old saying. What one generation tolerates in moderation the next generation will do to excess.

The misuse of tolerance has brought us to the point where people are afraid of being accused of lacking it. Before the left started calling everyone on the right a racist they used the term bigot or intolerant. They are two different things but the point is the misuse of tolerance. Do you tolerate your children misbehaving? Do you tolerate people who say stupid things like “defund the police”? Do you tolerate a government that tries to tell you spending trillions of dollars won’t cost anything and et cetera? If you do then you are like the frog in the pot. Tolerance was not a big part of our military career. It should not be a big part of our civilian life either.
