Image: THE DIVINE RETRIBUTION OF NEMESIS In ancient Greek religion, Nemesis (/ˈnɛməsɪs/; Greek: Νέμεσις), was the spirit of divine retribution against those who succumb to hubris.

Trump at CPAC said “In 2016, I declared: I am your voice,” he said, speaking for just over 100 minutes at the closing speech of the CPAC event in Maryland. “Today, I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed: I am your retribution,”

The usual suspects lost their minds. WAPO headline reads: “Trump’s dark ‘I am your retribution’ pledge — and how GOP enabled it”. NY Times headline reads: “Trump, Vowing ‘Retribution,’ Foretells a Second Term of Spite”. The Philadelphia Inquirer reads: America needs to confront its ‘Mussolini moment’ and the list goes on and on. But what is “retribution” and can it lead to a better America?

Retribution is a concept that suggests punishment or recompense for wrongdoing. While it may seem like a harsh approach to correcting bad behavior, it can actually be seen as a positive force for justice and accountability. When someone does something wrong, it’s important that they understand the consequences of their actions and take responsibility for them.

Retribution can serve as a way to hold people accountable for their mistakes, while also offering a chance for growth and change. By acknowledging the harm they’ve caused to America and making amends, individuals & institutions can move forward and become better versions of themselves. So, while it may not always be easy, retribution can ultimately lead to positive outcomes and a more just society.

I know there are going to be those on the left that see Donald Trump as the one who harmed America. However, honest people admit that while he is, shall we say unique, his policies for America were rock solid. Who can argue against a secure border, strong military, lower taxes, low inflation, low gas prices and bringing manufacturing back to America? Only nut jobs.

Trump also said he could solve the Russia / Ukraine war before taking the Oval Office if elected. He said he could do it in one day. Now, I know that he is a bragger. People said Mexico did not pay for the wall but the tariffs on Mexico did. That is until Joe Biden ruined everything. For whatever it is worth, I would not bet against him. I suppose we will find out just how smart or stupid Americans have become in 2024.
