As I observe the discussions surrounding Joe Biden’s age, I am concerned that pro-America voters may be losing sight of the true issue at hand. It is irrelevant to me whether Joe can climb stairs, ride a bike, or walk without assistance. I would have no qualms if a President required a stair lift to board Air Force One. In all honesty, I am not bothered by his mumbling or lapses in thought without a teleprompter except for the international embarrassment it causes. I would support a President with speech impediments or physical limitations if their policies were sound and beneficial. Let us not be distracted by superficial concerns, but rather focus on the substance of a candidate’s platform.

I am hopeful that voters have now seen the contrast between good and bad policies. Not all but most Democrats directly approve or tacitly approve of the leftist agenda. Don’t get me wrong, I know many have left the Democrat party because of these issues. Many are even pushing for Trump to pick former Democrat Presidential Candidate Tulsi Gabbard for VP. I would be fine with that. Below is an excerpt from her video on why she left the Democrat party:

I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic party. It’s now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of War mongers driven by cowardly wokeness who divide Us by racializing every issue and stoking anti-white racism. Who actively work to undermine our god-given freedoms enshrined in our constitution and who are hostile to people of faith and spirituality. Who demonize the police, who protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans. Who believe in open borders. Who weaponize the National Security State to go after their political opponents and above all are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.

A lot of what Tulsi says are things I can identify with. There was a time the Republican party was the party of the elite and the Democrat party appeared to be for the people. That is how it seemed to me when I was younger. Then came Jimmy Carter and I saw what poor policies could do to a country. Inflation was high and it was very difficult to find a job. Mortgage rates hit an all time high. One of my first jobs was pumping gas. There was no self service. You had to check license plates to see if they ended in even or odd numbers because there was a gasoline shortage.

The U.S. merchandise trade deficit deteriorated rapidly from a $9 billion surplus in 1975 to a deficit of $34.19 billion in 1978. President Carter was seen as so weak that Iran took over the American Embassy and held 52 of our people hostage for 444 days. That’s how bad things got. That is until the day Ronald Reagan was sworn in. The release was immediate. If you are not old enough to remember that episode of American history then you should study it. Everyone was afraid of Ronald Reagan but that’s what it took to settle the world down. We are seeing history repeat itself.

The left tried to make people afraid of Reagan like they do Trump. The difference this time is we have two competitors that we can compare. You can let all the non policy jabs at each candidate out of the equation. The simple question I hope most Americans ask themselves is: “Was I better off under Trump policies or Biden?” To most of us the answer is simple.
