The Hyde Amendment

There’s been a lot of talk about the Hyde Amendment. It bars the use of Federal tax money for abortion except to save the life of the woman or in cases of incest or rape.

Ed Rendell on FOX News with Martha McCallum said this:

“Anytime we have a constitutional right guaranteed by the Supreme Court it should not be denied people because they cannot afford it.”

The next day Joe Biden said something similar:

“I can’t justify leaving millions of women without access to the care they need and the ability to excercise their constitutionally protected rights. If I believe health care is a right, as I do, I can no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s ZIP code,”

This seems to be the new talking point for the Democrats. In my mind’s eye, I see millions of people nodding their heads in agreement with these ideas. That is until they realize the following:

Let’s see, if exercising your constitutional rights should be funded by taxpayers, when are the Democrats going to demand taxpayer money be used for my 2nd Amendment Rights and buy me my guns? (insert evil genius laughter here) 

I have to admit. I love logic.
